It is generally viewed that ERP software automates core corporate activities, such as manufacturing, human resource, finance, and supply chain management, by incorporating best practices to facilitate rapid decision-making.
However, ERP implementation is more about people than about technology. People must get the highest priority when it comes to ERP implementation, and that data qualifies as the second highest priority. SC teams must have the depth of critical supply chain skills, knowledge and expertise. It is cost effective for organizations to train their own people for functional/process knowledge prior to any implementation.
